The Settlement chain is live
PolicyBlockchain is the shared, tamper-evident record for insurance. Policies, entities and money movement are recorded once, independent validators agree on the result, and anyone entitled to see a record can check it for themselves. Today the first chain of that network is live.
What PolicyBlockchain is
PolicyBlockchain is a permissioned network managed by IEC (InsurEco Ecosystem). It records fingerprints and pointers, not the insurance records themselves. The records stay with the parties entitled to them, and the chain lets anyone prove, later, what was agreed and when.
The network runs on Hyperledger Besu with QBFT consensus. A fixed, known set of validators proposes and votes on each block, and a block is final the moment it is committed. There is no mining, no staking, and nothing to wait out.
Two chains, split by trust group
PolicyBlockchain runs two chains, each with its own set of validators.
- Settlement (chain 1117710) carries money movement. It holds the Tawa Reserve, the reserve account together with a daily signed check against the bank. IEC runs its validators.
- InsureBio (chain 1140615) is the records book: identities, entities, policies, appointments and data-access grants. Five partners validate it: IEC, IBC (BindDesk), InsureCap, Paragon and Santee. Tennessee and Lloyd's Lab each run a read-only full node, which holds a complete copy and verifies it independently, with no signing duties.
InsureBio checkpoints into Settlement, so a record can be checked against a root that no single party controls.
What went live
- The Settlement chain, running with four validators, backups kept off the validator machines, and tested against failure.
- The explorer at scan.policyblockchain.com. Anyone sees the latest block, block time and validator count. Blocks, transactions and the API sit behind a free Bio-ID account.
- The network map at scan.policyblockchain.com/network. It is public, needs no sign-in, and shows only health: validators online, block height, block time and the time since the last block. No addresses or network details are published.
- The InsureBio chain, live as of 3 October 2026, together with its testnet (chain 11406152).
What is next
- The contracts. The reserve and token contracts are built and tested. They will be deployed after review.
- The chain gateway. A single service through which platform services write to the chain, so that no application ever holds a chain key.
- The Settlement testnet (chain 11177102), together with a fork-rehearsal step that every mainnet change must pass first.
- Community. A place for builders and partners, on its way.
Developers can read how the network is put together, and how to connect, on the developers page. Live health is on the status page.
